Wrenchin'... UPDATE!
Mar 9th, 2010, 5:11pm

If you own a Jeep, you must wrench.

Here's a project that started toward the end of last year, and got side-tracked due to inclement weather, or Pop Pop just plain ol' not feelin' like dealin'.

The patient is a '98 Grand Cherokee, needing a complete rear end transplant. My SIL and I scored one from a nearby junkyard... last year.  Finally, the weather has turned for the better, so I took Monday off to remove the bad, and prepair for the good. This ain't smokin', butt it will be when it's done... Thumb Up

Poof!! It's gone!

Got my arse all jacked up...

The donor... it will be prettier, I promise...

Thanks for stopping by...

Know what ya mean about wrenching on a Jeep..Had a 76 J2000 pickup...258 sixer...seemed like every six months I was changing a motor mount on one side or the other...then there was the vac diaphram on the carburator that would always crap out...almost forgot...all the vacuum operated vents for the heater and defroster...get a little moisture in them...FROZEN SHUT...NO HEAT...and finally...the locking front hubs...God forbid you needed to get them  locked in without a pair of channel lock pliers...they seemed like they were always frozen..even in warm weather... Update on "Project Jeep"

Here's why I haven't posted much recently...I'm finally making some progress:

The donor... now prettier, and much better than the old one... I hope!

She's in... test drive tomorrow!

I had intended to put a 2" boost in the suspension while I had it apart, and when I went to put it together, it didn't fit right... at least not without modifying the crap out of the kit. It's going back, I'll lift it another day with some better equipment...

Thanks for looking!!
