Where do I start? I'm into sausage making, butchering, smoking meats, wine making, beer making, hunting, fishing, shooting sports, both rifle and shotgun, reloading. I do a little gardening and food preserving, wood working. In the evenings I am usually tied up with a Masonic body , either Craft lodge masonry, Royal Arch Masonry. Council of royal and Select Masters, Royal Ark Mariner, Knights Templar, York Rite Sovern College of North America, Grand Imperial Conclave of Canada, Order of the High Priesthood of Ontario, Noble of the Mystic Shrine and Knight York Cross of Honour.

Harper,that all sounds like fun to me.I lived on the east coast of FL for 6 years and did a lot of those activity's.We caught so many shrimp that i actually could not eat them anymore,I started eating scallops.My friend was a dive master,whom I knew from WV,and he would bring home fish and lobster after taking his students out on their check out dives.The guys I worked with were all local boys who grew up there and Id go hog hunting with them.That was my favorite thing to do,you could go to a pig pickin every weekend.Ah,the good old days,those people down there really knew how to eat and were very good people.Being from WV and not knowing anyone in the area didn't matter,those guys took me and my buddie under their wing and made us a part of their circle,I learned a lot from those guys.

I'm a gearing up to do yeast cultures. I need some petri dishes. I have also been experimenting with yeast starter bottles because i see that some beer brewers use 1000ml of sugar water with nutrients.
Last week i used the trub from a batch and started a nice starter bottle. Now i have itin the refer and want to see if i can get it going after 1 week--2--3 etc.

I am lusting over a digital microscope. Why?????????? quien sabe Grin

Expired yeast makes a good nutrient also. SOme of the brew stores will seel or give you the expired yeast if you ask.
