Woo hoo!

Don't forget to season it and burn off all the crap!

Is your thermeter adjustable in the dial? Someone told me they aren't any more and mine is. Call and tell them to send you a new one if it doesn't work.

Got a few dings but geeze only $30 for shipping? I've paid that much for spices!

The grill is over 10 years old (the Weber that refuses to die) and I only paid what $30 for the Brinkmann seriously.  I need to learn to control the durn thing and I just could not see myself smoking sausage in it.

Got some pork chops and ribs to break it in! Smiley

Already seasoned it tonight.

Smiley

Off to make rub!

Those old Webbers are built well. They don't die and you can smoke in them.

Woo Hoo! Sausage is tough in the Brinkman the heat is so close but it's a great cooker for pastrami. I don't know why but I use mine for pastrami all the time. Mine has taken to many hard winters and needs some serious TLC. Probably cheaper to buy a new one but ... I was my first real smoker ... I can't let her go ... <sniff>

Have fun tomorrow (later) can't wait to see how you like it. Don't forget to add water to the water pan! I like to spray my meat with apple juice from time to time. Adds sweetness and moisture.

The thunderstorm has passed by and is over Lake Michigan by now.  Gonna try and get the dogs to go potty in the wet grass.

Time to fire up the smoker!

The most affectionate thing is a wet dog...

I don't understand.  It's warm outside and I can't get my camp chef to go over about 211.  Sad

ETA Valve all the way open, plenty of propane in the tank. Temp set on high.

sometimes the valve on the propane gets  dirt in it. There's a tiny pin hole near the big silver valve. Try sticking a small toothpick or needle in there and clean it out. That might do it!
